"The majority of tracks are of Holly's lesser known songs, but still fantastic to listen to."
"Holly's interpretation of Slippin' & Slidin' is well worth the cost of the album on its own."
"None of the original hits are here, but you don't have to be a rabid completist to enjoy it."
"These are the overdubbed versions with The Fireballs, remastered from the original tapes."
"Chuck's version of Brown Eyed Handsome Man is not as good. This has way more energy."
"Norman Petty recruited The Fireballs as studio musicians and orchestrated them through the task of musically enhancing the Buddy Holly 'apartment tapes' which surfaced after his death."
“A bluesy, hard-rocking, moody assembly of material gathered from across more than two years of Holly's history."
