Reminiscing – BUDDY HOLLY***

Reminiscing/Slippin’ & Slidin’/Bo Diddley/Wait ‘Til The Sun Shines Nellie/Baby Won’t You Come Out Tonight/ Brown Eyed Handsome Man/Because I Love You/Its Not My Fault/I’m Gonna Set My Foot Down/Changing All Those Changes/Rock-A-Bye Rock

Producer Norman Petty dubbed studio group The Fireballs for the backing on several tracks. Overall the album fails to match the top notch Holly standard evidenced in his more authorised releases. (US:40 UK:2)

"The majority of tracks are of Holly's lesser known songs, but still fantastic to listen to."

"Holly's interpretation of Slippin' & Slidin' is well worth the cost of the album on its own."

"None of the original hits are here, but you don't have to be a rabid completist to enjoy it."

"These are the overdubbed versions with The Fireballs, remastered from the original tapes."

"Chuck's version of Brown Eyed Handsome Man is not as good. This has way more energy."

"Norman Petty recruited The Fireballs as studio musicians and orchestrated them through the task of musically enhancing the Buddy Holly 'apartment tapes' which surfaced after his death."

“A bluesy, hard-rocking, moody assembly of material gathered from across more than two years of Holly's history."

“Reminiscing is a welcome addition to any Buddy Holly collection. A brilliant LP with tremendous versions of Bo Diddley and Brown Eyed Handsome Man with Slippin' & Slidin' to slow it down again. It was, at the time of release, a long await
