Easy listening Bert Kaempfert and his orchestra were enormously popular in the mid sixties. Three O'Clock In The Morning features the now lost art of the music arranger. (US:42)

"Bert Kaempfert is unparalleled for good listening and dance music; his undeniable style and sound is at its peak on this collection. Who cares if the mood stays the same. What more could a listener want from a superb artist like Mr Kaempfert."

"Bert Kaempfert was such a versatile orchestra leader that he covered several markets with his 'sound' and I think this makes it difficult to choose one album from another. I prefer his soft, easy listening, wordless chorus tracks. This album fortunately has my kind of tracks so if you want some excellent European sixties easy listening tracks you'll enjoy this disc."

"Bert went through a phase for a few years in the mid 60s making mellow romantic style music - like this one - a follow up to Blue Midnight."

"This album is among my most favourite, largely due to the great rhythm, dominant bass line and Mr Kaempfert`s knack for combining voices and strings. The tracks on this album are smooth and really cue the listener's ear. Among my favourite tracks are Let A Smile Be Your Umbrella, and You You You. I have been a fan of Bert Kaempfert`s music all of my life. If you are one of those who has not heard his great sound, this album would be a fine introduction."

"Three O'Clock In The Morning is Bert Kaempfert's follow-up to his enormously successful album Blue Midnight. Contemporary listeners have a hard time making sense of the orchestral pop of artists like Kaempfert, whose forte is the lost art of arranging. As rock & roll gained predominance most of the popular audience lost its appreciation for the arrangements of orchestral pop, and today this music is usually dismissed as elevator music. Kaempfert was a fine composer of melodies, and this has several pieces he wrote or co-wrote. Full of interesting and entertaining music."
