Beatles VI – THE BEATLES***

Kansas City-Hey Hey Hey Hey/Eight Days A Week/You Like Me Too Much/Bad Boy/I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party/Words Of Love/What You’re Doing/Yes It Is/Dizzy Miss Lizzy/Tell Me What You See/Every Little Thing

Yet another US Beatles album with the songs irritatingly in the wrong order and place. Needless to say Beatles VI topped the US album chart. Contains the US No. 1 hit single Eight Days A Week. (US:1)

"Eight Days A Week, with its fade-in intro and ringing guitars, is easily the standout track here and a classic in The Beatles canon."

"Words Of Love, an updated Buddy Holly tune, is beautifully done too, even if a little childish and simple."

"This one has a stronger country influence than their other albums."

"I Don't Want To Spoil The Party features The Beatles mixing a country beat with a rock and roll flavour to add beauty to this ballad. The guitars are excellent and I love that percussion."

"Kansas City is a fun version of this song with great vocal efforts by Paul."

"Tell Me What You See has John and Paul on lead vocals, and when they sing, 'open up your eyes now' Paul's lower register voice is clearly discernible."

"John rips into the frantic Larry Williams number Dizzy Miss Lizzy in the same way he did Twist and Shout. Nice mean guitar from George."
