US only release December's Children includes Get Off Of My Cloud, a No. 1 hit single in both Britain and the States. Uses the same cover as the British release Out Of Our Heads. (US:3)
"This album here has no right existing. The most bastard of all the US bastardized Stones issues by far. A few songs left off the US issue of Out Of Our Heads, a few B-sides, a couple of singles and stray songs, and a few live tracks."
"Another one of the American patchwork albums throwing together a bunch of early recordings, live tracks new studio material etc. However, in spite of my contempt for the way in which The Stones' catalogue was handled in the US, I have to say this isn't all that bad."
"Not one of The Stones better earlier recordings. Get Off Of My Cloud is one awesome tune. There are some compelling blues tunes (Route 66, I'm Movin' On) recorded in a live setting. As Tears Go By is a nice ballad. The rest of the tunes are certainly not bad by any means. However, little new is explored here. Blue Turns To Grey and a couple of the others have some cute poppy arrangements."
"This is, more or less, just a collection of Rolling Stones songs that hadn't been on an album before. As such, it doesn't have the cohesiveness of some of their other albums. But regardless of that, there is a lot of great material here. The only thing that keeps me from giving this album five stars are the poorly recorded live versions of Route 66 and I'm Moving On. While the performances themselves are fine, it's hard to hear them above all the audience screaming."
"Its not a cohesive album, just a collection of songs. But where else can you find the raw raunch of a live Route 66 (better than studio version) and then find gems like the wistful Singer Not The Song or Blue Turns To Grey. Some sure fire hits but also some cool covers and some cool songs they probably wrote for other people but covered themselves. I like just about everything on here and so will you."
