We Are Ever So Clean was the debut album from the British psychedelic group Blossom Toes. They have been compared to The Kinks, and are best remembered for the whimsical approach to their music.

“Very whimsical and silly psych pop. Tons of great material here but I am annoyed by the little skits they keep doing throughout the album. It's the only weak point though. The whole record seems to be done with tongue firmly in cheek, they aren't serious very often and when they are, it produces the best songs here.”

“Released at the height of flower power in 1967, We Are Ever So Clean is the first record by the UK's Blossom Toes, widely considered to be the finest pop-psych album ever recorded. It's a fascinating amalgam of whimsical pop, music hall humour and acid rock.”

"Blossom Toes received a lot of comparisons with The Kinks and The Move - basically every British band that decided to delve into the world of psych - but Blossom Toes are completely their own thing. They let loose on some rockin' power chords, many of the songs are sung in the overtly British, cockney-esque.”

“This is just stacked with the orchestrations and bouncy melodies. The songs are extremely well done. Everything is tightly written and perfectly played. The Toes keep the orchestrations light enough to give the open, airy touch this music needs.”

“Often, but not always, sounding very typically British of it's vintage. And on the better tracks, there is some strong psychedelic flavour. But this album is far too inconsistent for its own good, perhaps trying to be too much to too many, and thoroughly pleasing no one.”
