The second Elvis movie LP from 1964 Roustabout topped the US album chart despite its brevity. Regarded by some as a better than average Presley soundtrack LP. (US:1 UK:12)

"This is one of Elvis's mid-60s movie soundtracks, not one of his best, but not his worst. It is mid 60s pop with a little bit of rock (but not much). Only recommended for avid Elvis fans."

"Sure, Roustabout is never going to make an all-time greatest albums list, but it offers a breezy collection of pleasing tunes and ranks among the best of Presley's movie soundtracks. The title cut, Little Egypt, and especially the dramatic Big Love Big Heartache offer proof not all of Presley's movie recordings can be dismissed without losing some gems along the way."

"The excellent big ballad, Big Love Big Heartache is a real gem which Elvis should have actually recut in full."

"The best cut is a 'cover' of The Coasters' classic, Little Egypt. A solid novelty rocker, and Elvis really nails it."

"There are a few pop gems. The film itself was well made and the overall production of the material here was given care and respect. Overall, very entertaining, a little short, but you want to hear every track."

"This is one of the better Elvis soundtrack albums of the 60s, usually there are a handful of good tunes and some pretty awful ones to go with the film subject. There are some nice rockers here. Given its short length though, you might wonder why it is worth purchasing."

"This is a pleasant enough album to listen to, even the film tie in tracks don't sound to bad, but I didn't find anything to get too excited about. Mostly decent tracks and overall its not a bad album. Non-soundtrack fans will probably find it acceptable."
