German bandleader Bert Kaempfert achieved one of his best UK album chart placings with Strangers In The Night. The title track was his own composition and became a major international hit for Frank Sinatra. (US:39 UK:13)

"This is one of Bert's top five albums without a doubt. The band delivers its classic mid-late 60s sound with some very impressive numbers. What beautiful trumpet solos - complemented by a terrific stereophonic brass section which sounds unreal."

"Strangers was a modest hit for Kaempfert and a blockbuster for Frank Sinatra, so naturally it became the title song of the next Kaempfert LP."

"Strangers is featured here in it's full length hit version. There are many other standout cuts, including Kaempfert's hit single version of I Can't Give You Anything But Love. Three other cuts worth mentioning are Kaempfert-Herbert Rehbein originals: Milica, Forgive Me and Two Can Live On Love Alone. Track for track, this is an excellent LP."

"Bert Kaempfert became a symbol of two generations, he knew how to combine the elegance, the inspiration and lyricism, always preserving this well defined personality during the sixties."

"Magical and soothing stuff. Just beautiful and very retro. Cool."

"Kaempfert is an equal to Alpert with regard to trumpet talent but their styles are quite different. I'm simply astounded by the beauty of this work - contemporary 'artists' just don't compare."

"The music is classified 'easy listening' with emphasis on lovely background singing, twangy guitar but overall, pretty melodies played by Bert's favourite solo instrument, the trumpet. Reminiscent on some songs of Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass material. Very relaxing music, soothing with a number of upbeat and whimsical numbers."
